MEALWORM BREEDING BOX

Mealworm breeding box Insecto – Breeding box for adult mealworm beetles. The system is designed for maximum efficiency in laying eggs into the substrate and its easy replacement.

Includes two parts: a breeding box with a bottom replaced by wire mesh (2.0 mm mesh size, material technical galvanized fabric) and a substrate tray for egg laying.

Instructions:

On the substrate tray, place the breeding box with the mesh and spread a half-centimeter layer of substrate into it (approximately 0.8 kg per tray), then add the beetles. The beetles lay their eggs into the substrate through the mesh, but they do not have access to the eggs and cannot consume them. The substrate with the eggs is harvested as needed, typically 1-2 times a week. Adult beetles are capable of reproduction roughly between their 2nd and 9th week of life, and a female can lay 160-320 eggs during the reproductive period.
